Remove Windows 2000 without formatting?

I would like to know if there's a way to remove Windows
2000 without formatting, because I have files that I would
really like to keep.
 
You *could* try deleting the winnt folder but the registry is full of
Windows settings.

Your best bet would be to backup the files you want to keep and format,
reinstall, and restore the files from backup.
