Remove Vista?

How do I revert back to Windows XP? Ever since I had Vista, I could never
get the Radeon ATI Express 200 to properly update with Vista without my
computer bugging out on me. I am also a PC Gamer online. Since Vista, I get
no sounds out of my games, but I get all the sounds normally... I also have
the Myspace IM, and my computer acts weird when I get an IM, and then
completely shuts down Myspace, as well as Trillian. I am just having too
many problems with Vista beta2.... I downloaded Vista and burned the ISO,
and then upgraded Vista on my OS. I purchased this PC from Best Buy, and
did not receive a Product Key, nor XP CD with the computer. Is there a way
for me to reverse the upgrade? I tried system restore and it only backtracks
to just after Vista was installed.

Please help ?

If your hard drive is large enough the ideal solution is to install MS Vista
RC1 and to dual boot and install Vista onto s 2nd partition on the system
drive. Once you have upgraded to RC1 you can not downgrade. You would need
to do a clean install of Windows XP.

By upgrading from XP to Vista, you have effectively killed off XP. You
cannot rollback to XP. Your only option would be a reformat and reinstall
with an XP CD.

The XP Product Key should be stuck on your computer case.

What make and model pc is it? There may well be a hidden recovery partition
on your hard drive that holds the files needed for a reinstall of XP. Did
you get a manual with it?

I believe that pcs are not allowed to be sold without effective means of
recovery, either via a hidden partition or with recovery cds.

As mentioned, there should either be an OS CD/DVD or a 'hidden' recovery
partition on your hard drive.

If your computer has the 'recovery' partition on it (which would contain
your OS and apps that were originally loaded on your first boot), you might
want to make an image of it (using software such as Acronis True Image), and
store it on an external drive, or DVD so you will have a copy in case of
major problems.

I've done so with my HP and find it useful, especially when I run into
serious issues with Vista...then all I do is restore the image of my drive,
and I'm back to XP with all my apps/etc. Also much quicker than reinstalling
OS and apps. Just a suggestion.
