1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe)
2. Locate the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
3. Make sure you backup the keys by exporting them to a .reg file.
4. Look for the SP2 uninstall entry and delete the key. (See 'Display Name' value in the right-pane)
5. Close the registry editor.
6. Restart your computer.
Note that uninstallation of SP2 is not possible now. If you wish to recover the space occupied by SP2 backup files , simply delete the corresponding $Uninstall folder present under C:\Windows folder.

IS it possible to remove the entry for Service Pack 2 from the Add/Remove
Programs list once installation has been successful?
