Remove Security Passwords

Brenda Rueter

A client has been experimenting with putting a password on a database. She
has since removed that password, but in the process, now ALL Access files
prompt for a password. We can't figure out how to turn off the prompt. If
you just click past it you still get into the files - the prompt is an
annoyance. Can anyone suggest anything to remove that prompt? TIA!
 
It sounds like it is prompting for a User Name and password. If that's the
case then your client needs to log on as the Admin user and blank that
password.

Check the shortcut she is using. If it is pointing to a workgroup file,
you can remove that information.
