I have a program that automatically appears when I open Internet Explorer;
the address is
http://warningiepage.com/. It opens a security center page
with numerous options to purchase security programs. I believe it is listed
in the add/remove portion of the control panel as "system Alert Popup."
However, when I attempt to remove it nothing happens. It appears sto be
linked to an exe file titled as "Video Access ActiveX Object," but that file
cannot be remove either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
For Malwares download both these software:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D
Try to run Disk Clean up to do that follow these steps:
Open My Computer by double clicking it then on the C:\ partition right click
it and select Properties.
On the C:\ Drive properties click on General tab then click on Disk Clean Up
and make sure you check mark all boxes in the new Pop-up window.
Then Open windows explorer and delete the Temp:
C:\Windows\Temp\TemporaryInternet Files =< Delete all sub-folders in capital
letters they will be here>
=Then Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
