Error Message: ClassFactory cannot supply requested class

I am unable to remove an application using Add/Remove because of above error
message. Have removed using another program, but is still in All Programs
List but cannot be launched or accessed. Have tried Installer Cleanup, and
deleting Registry entries. No good. There are 2 mentions in MS Knowledge
base, but all greek to me and do not seem to have anything to do with this
problem.
Would be very grateful for any help.

Rightclick the Start button, and "Explore". You will be able to delete the
shortcut to the app in whatever start menu folder you have it in. This is
nothing but a shortcut, and the rest of the files are probably already
completely removed. The add /remove entry can also be removed if you wish,
but it takes editing the registry. Obviously you prefer not to acquire the
knowledge to do that, so you will probably need to find local help to assist
in that.
