Remove Personal Antivirus remnants

Old Rookie

Try using the free version of Malwarebytes removal tool. I have had good
luck with it.

In many cases it simply is best to backup data and settings and reinstall
operating system, applications, data, and taking steps to minimize future
problems. The best way to insure a good running operating system.

As the other person said, download Malwarebytes and run it. But run it in
safe mode (hit F8 when you fire up the PC before going into windows) and run
it there so you can almost guarntee 100% success.

Hello Brent:

Although nothing harmful would come from running MBAM in Safe Mode,
this is a technique we recommend for SAS and not MBAM. MBAM does its
best in the normal mode.

Come around some of the malware newsgroups if you'd like to see what
else we do.

Warm regards,

As noted, MBAM runs best in NORMAL mode, but, I neglected to clarify the
install ONLY in safe mode and then run in Normal Mode when I made the
comment.

Try the virus and anti-virus newsgroups in the alt hierarchy.
You may not find a newsgroup with "malware" in the name.
