I currently have Office 2007 installed on my pc. I am looking to remove
outlook 2007 (only) from my computer leaving word, excel etc. When I click
add/remove programs, microsoft office is in the list, does it give me an
option just to remove outlook or do I need to remove everything (word, excel
etc)? I am having trouble with outlook and want to re-install that only.

In Add/Remove Programs, select Office and click Change. Pick the Add or
Remove Features option and click Next. Deselect Outlook and click Update.

When I re-install outlook 2007, can I export my .pst files from my external
hard drive (which is where I have them backed-up)?

If you have a PST on the external hard drive, after you install Outlook again,
you can either leave the PST on the external drive and simply reference it
from there in your mail profile or you can copy it to your Documents folder
and reference if from there in your mail profile. Export/import is never the
way to transfer data from one Outlook instance to another.
