remove old workgroup?

I had my networked computers in more than one workgroup and then renamed
them all to the same workgroup. All is working well except that I cannot
seem to remove or delete the old workgroup names.

Can anyone advise me on how to remove my old workgroups under XP?

Ed,

A workgroup is nothing but a collection of computers under the same group name.
Change the group name, restart the computers, and the group name should change.

Thanks Chuck, rebooting after removing the computers from the group names
did the trick.
