Remove McAfee/Install AVG???

Is it as simple as this? Go to *control panel* - add remove software
-
select McAfee - select remove. Download and install AVG free version?
Have had troubles with Big Mac; time to renew, but AVG is free and is
recommended.
Is this a good way to go? Thanks, Ron ([email protected])

it *should* be that easy... sometimes it isn't that easy to remove an
anti-virus product (norton av is a prime example, though i hear that's
supposed to improve with the new versions coming out) but that's the
process i would try first... if it doesn't work there might be a special
removal tool for the software just as there is for nav...

Would strongly urge you to reconsider jumping into the fire with AVG
and suggest looking at other alternatives
