I installed .net and get an annoying login screen for my winxp home user. I
don't want any login scripts to appear.
How can i get rid of this and how come the information is so hard to find?
Return to windows update, do a custom scan and install any updates to the
..Net that you have installed. If that doesn't do it here are two ways to
set up an automatic login, either manually or using TweakUI. By the way
finding out this info is pretty easy. You got it here is a few minutes or
you could have gotten it from a Google search in a couple of seconds:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=auto+login+windows+xp
Here's the info:
1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.
2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.
3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.
You can accomplish the same thing by:
Download and install TweakUI for XP and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:
Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
