Remove items from Desktop Background

Old Bob

I have two PC's both win XP Professional. On one, once I browse to MY
Pictures all the picts in that folder appear on the list of backgrounds
in display properites. Even if I select another background that is
from windows/web/wallpaper all the my pictures still show. On the
other PC, if I select a pict from My Pictures, only that pict will
appear on the display list and when I select another, that original one
goes away. Where is the setting to check or uncheck so the first PC
operates like the second one and not automatically showing and keeping
all the picts in MY Pict on the display properties? How do I clean
this list out? I have moved the picts in My picts and it does clean the
list out but as soon as I move the picts back to the My picts folder,
back they are again on the list.

You have to change a registry value to set a default wallpaper directory but
changing the registry entries need good skills. Do it very carefully.

Click - Start - Run
Type regedit and press enter
goto:

HEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

On the right side pane change the value of "WallPaperDir" from
%systemroot%\web\wallpaper to your's directory path like c:\wallpapers

But it will still show you some wallpapers exits in your Windows directory.

Hope this help, let us know!
