Remove Installed Application links from Start Menu

Something new I've noticed in Vista is when you remove the folder in
the Start Menu created by installing an application, Vista removes it
from Program Files and not just from the Start menu. There are some
applications which I don't want visible in other user's Start Menu and
there are some that I don't want in mine, mainly because I never use
the links in those folders.

Sometimes I like to group all my Start Menu application links into
categorized folders, i.e., all the Utility applications go in a
Utility folder, all the Multimedia applications go in a Multimedia
folder.

Anyone know how to remove or relocate links on the start menu which
were placed there by installing an application?

Hi,

You have two solutions -
1. Separate all programs list on category
For this you may use freeware program Tidy Start Menu
http://www.TidyStartMenu.com
2. Completely replace start menu to convenient alternative to the
Start menu.
Also you get new look&Feel
http://www.VistaStartMenu.com

I recommend second way.

Please note I don't test the Tidy Start Menu under Vista.
