Remove Context-based Items

Hello, I'm using Vista Home Premium SP1. When I right-click on an empty
space on my desktop, then click on New, a multitude of applications appear
wanting to be chosen. All I want to appear when I click New, is Folder,
Shortcut and Text Document.

How do I make all the other applications go away? Thanks in advance.
