Removal of EXE file currently running that is infected with a Virus

At present a file that was downloaded automatically is
currently running on my C drive. It is infected with the
hacktool.proxy virus. I have run my Norton Anti Virus and
it shows the file is infected with the hacktool.proxy
virus but it can not repair or delete this file. I have
also tried to delete the file that is infected called
iupdate.exe using Add and Remove Programs But it does not
show up there. I have also tried to shut down this exe
file using my Task Manager but again it will not shut it
down so i can delete the exe file. Can someone help me
remove this file from my pc please?

Visit www.sarc.com. In the virus encyclopedia, search for
the malwawre by the name NAV had identified it. Symantec
does not have anything in its virus encyclopedia that says
hacktool.proxy. But since SARC is Symantec, it would have
at least identified the virus by its proper ID name. Manual
removal instructions are usually provided for such low-order
malware.
