The BackUp program destination box is continually dimmed
and will not
allow a user to back up files to CD's in the Aopen CD-RW
drive(only A:drive is functional.) I have systematically
isolated every program that
has any connection to the CD-RW on an individual basis and
cannot find a conflict. I have removed all older or
extraneous program folders associated with removable
drives. I have updated all the firmware and software
associated with the drive and Windows. I have checked to
make sure user access rights and permissions are in order.
The Aopen CD-RW 4850 is present in the physical locations
folder of the Windows 2000 Removable Media component. It
appears as if it is an operating system issue. I'm hoping
someone can suggest a possible solution(s). Thank you.

NTBackup does not support CD-R devices. It works with tapes and disk file
only. If you want to back up to CD-RW, you need a third-party backup
program.
