Hi,

Showing up like that involves the creation of a namespace entry in the
registry. Normally, this is accomplished by the installation of the webcam's
supporting software. It is not something that is done by default in XP or
Vista. Have you installed such yet?

Hi Their
Thx for the reply,
I did load the webcam software into vista like i would have done with xp,
but xp would set up a windows camera icon in the My Computer folder, so if
you were away at another pc I could remote access the computer then click on
the camera icon under my computer, were it would open a window so i could see
what was happening. but its not their under Vista

Is it a Logitech webcam? My STX Communicator's Vista drivers no longer have
those two icons in My Computer like it did under XP.

The Logitech Vista software has depreciated features when compared to the XP
versions.

Its a Microsoft vx6000 webcam. im not sure if i could access it anyware else.
If i try and use the vista software for the webcam romotely on another pc,
the desktop comes up no probs but if i start the cam software it asks to
setup the sound and video than says it cannot detect it.
