Hi,

I'm running Windows XP Pro. I want to enable Remote Terminal Services so I
can connect to my computer while travelling. I've opened port 3389 for the
connection. I've checked the services, and Terminal Services is started,
but all the menu choices (eg. stop/start/restart, etc) are grayed out.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is also started, and its menu choices are also
grayed out. At first this worried me a little, but I see that other
services, such as "Ati Hotkey Rollover" and "Event Log" also exhibit this
same behaviour.

From a 2nd computer on my internal network, I've run "mstsc" and am trying
to connect to my main computer, but it always times out. From that second
computer, "telnet 192.168.0.x 3389" does make a connection, as well as a
connection via the external IP address.

Any thoughts on what is wrong?

Thanks,
Scott

Additional information: I have 3 machines on my internal network, 2 Win XP
Pro and 1 Win 2000 Server. On the 2 Win XP machines, I've enabled "Allow
users to connect remotely to this computer". For the 2 Win XP machines,
when I try connecting, the connection times out. For the Win 2K machine,
terminal services work fine. There must be some hidden bit for Win XP that
I need to set in order for the machine to start acception remote
connections.

Thanks...
