Remote shutdown

Is there workaround for the screensaver problem when you want to remote
shutdown a computer ?

Workaround stated in the following link couldn't be applied to us because we
have to keep screensaver on some devices for security reasons.

I would try a local shutdown by using psexec.exe (www.sysinternals.com) to
hop onto the machine, then running shutdown.exe to shut it down.
