Remote Shutdown

I try to shutdown a remote computer (Windows XP) using
microsoft´s shutdown utility. I get the failure meesage
"access denied". How can I set rights for remote access?

Hi,

I've seen an instance or two where you won't be able to shutdown a machine
remotely, but the error typically would indicate 'A required priviledge is
not held by the client'. You might want to check the policy on the remote
system as there is both a Local Shutdown priviledge and a Remote Shutdown
priviledge. Your account will need to be allowed both of these.
