Can you tell me why my computer shuts down after
approximately 10 minutes with the message that the
program must close due to Remote Procedures Call.
Something about the NT Authority System. This has only
happend the last couple of days.

Thanks.

Read down the line, there are over a dozen posts about this virus caused
problem and how to remedy it.

Just get used to it! This won't be the last one!

I am trying to fix a client's system that is experiencing
the RPC termination but does not display the registry key
listed on Symantec's site and does not have the file
msblast.exe in the system32 directory (in Windows XP
Home). I haven't figured this out yet, but wanted to make
everyone aware that there may be more than one variant of
this worm (I guess???).

Thank you, Matt. Your help was invaluable.

Right I have posted all the info on my website, and the link to Symantec. It
seems like a worm is responsible for this RPC vulnerability, and RPC fix,
and removal instructions are on my website.

There you will find the type of RPC error that has been going around very
rapidly at the moment, and the link to Symantec which has fixes.

Hope this helps;
