Remote Procedure Call Error

I posted a message on this board a few weeks ago and
someone gave me an idea how to fix it but it dont seem to
have worked.

Problem:

Initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Remote Procedure Call service terminated unexpectedly.

Said Solution:

Rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS.
I renamed the HOSTS file in:
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc

Can someone please help

While connected to the internet, if you computer automatically reboots after
a 30 second countdown, then this issue indicates the presence of blaster
worm virus. Follow these steps to get rid of the virus:
You need to download 2 sets of patches:

Before downloading below patches, forbid your computer from
restarting:

* Click Start, choose Run, type "shutdown -a" (with out
quotation marks) and click OK.
