Remote Host locks up/freezes

O

OSM

I set up a new computer on an existing windows 2003 network. I can connect
internally (from inside the local network) to the workstation via the LAN and
exchange files. However when I try to connect via remote desktop I am
unsuccessful. I am prompted to enter the windows credentials, and after
waiting a bit the connection times out. The Host computer receiving the
remote connection locks up/freezes and the only way to do anything from that
point is to reboot the host computer manually.

Well it doesn't look like we're getting any answers. I have the same
problem, posted under "system locks up on RDC connection". Does the
station you're trying to reach have Norton Security? If you get any
more info post back and I'll do the same.

From the xp.general forum to items:

Download/Run the Norton Removal Tool & reboot:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/200503310816...

Uninstall all Norton and Symantec "LiveUpdate" from Add/Remove Program
BEFORE running the removal tool. Norton "on-line" support agent ran
the NRT and screwed up my system for over one month.

I'm going to try this, maybe today.

I tried the Norton uninstall util and it made no difference.
