Remote file access

I am trying to get my PC to let me access its shared files
romotly, i can connect to th pc but am unable to see the
computer or any of its files

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what do you mean by accessing the files remotely, oops - meant "romotly" ?
....are you trying to connect to the file shares over the Internet? what's
your connection? ...is there a NAT router/firewall? ...need details.

im trying to access the files on my PC (with fixed ip)
using my laptop (connection over the net)
