"Remote Downlevel Document" message

Hello everyone:

I work for a university in Mexico City, we have a General
Room for students with more than 250 PC's, we also have
five PC's just for printing connected to a printer server
(Windows 2000 server) and some HP9000n conected to this
print server. The problem that we are facing is related
to the following:

1. If I login in the domain having administrator
privileges there is no error, I mean I can see in the
print server all the document features such as number of
pages, size document, user name, filename and so on.

2. When I login into the domain as another user with no
administrative privileges and I try to print any file, I
see the user name but also the message "Remote Downlevel
Document". I´m still printing the file but since I can
not see the number of pages and other features it is
becoming complicated just because of the number of users
that we have daily. We have around of 800 visits during a
normal operations day (when the quarter begins) but when
we are near of the quarter´s end, we receive more tan
2250 sessions per day. Our campus has 9000 students.

3. We are worried about this problem because it does not
allow us to manage all printing jobs in the appropiate
manner, and this impact in a negative way this important
service to our community.

Do you have any idea on what is going wrong?

Thanks in advance and best regards.

remote downlevel documents are print jobs submitted over the SMB protocol.
This can occur when someone copies the files to the \\server\sharename or if
someone creates a local port using \\server\printhare. These job types are
submitted in RAW format (the client does all the rendering of the data).
The spooler on the server just passes these onto the printer. There are
several 3rd party software solutions that can track page usage for RAW jobs.

Print jobs submitted on a connection are over the RPC protocol
