I've done a lot of remote desktop on my pc and the list of workstations in
the drop down list is growing.

How do you go about deleting names from the drop down list that are no
longer required?

In the Registry, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\Default

Related entries that you probably also want to delete are in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\LocalDevices
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client\UsernameHint

Gary gave you a specific answer. The general answer is: Create
an easily identifiable entry, then search the registry for this entry.
In many cases it is then obvious how you can delete it from
your list.

Thank you.

I'm surprised that the only way to remove the listings is through the
registry.

Is there any way to have remote desktop all together not remember any of the
IP addresses and/or names of workstations that we are logging into...perhaps
a global setting.

Not that I know of. It's one of those strange MRUs that doesn't get cleared
by the normal means, and I know of no way to keep them from being saved.

That's to bad. If you're at an internet cafe with restricted access, you
may not have access to the registry to remove your remote desktop IP
address.

Just curious, what is MRU?

There are lots of things I wouldn't do from a public computer.

MRU = Most Recently Used
