Remote Desktop

This message is address to Mr. Al Sooner.

I read your response regarding remote desktop where the remote PC is behind
a router. Could elaborate more when you say forward TCP Port 3389 through the
router tot the LAN IP of the PC. What screen on the initiating workstation
can you find the TCP3389 and forward it throught it. Secondly, when you say
call the IP address of the router will be the same as the gateway IP address
on the PC connected to the router.

I appreciate your time in getting more into details.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi

As far as Entry Level Routers concern, when you open a port in a Router it
can be associated only with one internal IP (one computer).

When you connect from the outside (Internet) the connection will go
automatically to the one computer that the correct ports are opened (default
port of RDT is 3389)

If you want to connect to few computers (one at the time) you can change RDT
connection port on other computers (each computer its own value) and open
the changed port number to the corresponded computer. How to change the
listening port for Remote Desktop -
