Remote desktop web connection client problem

P

Pieter Thomasson

Hi there,

I have set up remote desktop web connection on my XP machine. When I try to
acces my PC from a client the 'connect' button on the connection web page is
inactive. The reason is apparentlty that the ActiveX Control plug-in cannot
be installed on the client, because I do not have administrator rights on
that machine (and won't get them). I tried to install this ActiveX control
manually on a drive that is accesible to me, and it copies the necessary
files, but the installation is aborted.
My question is, is there a way around this? I would be really useful if I
could work remotely on that machine.

Thank you,

Nope... Have you tried the regular client (try running mstsc from the
command prompt - it may already be installed)?
