remote desktop web connection activex control

I am trying to set up a web based method for students to login to a
terminal server in College from home. (They can already do this using
the Remote Desktop client app in XP or using a downloaded client on W98
etc.)

My laptop at home can use the web connection successfully and this
seems to be because I have RDP Client Control (redist) in the
downloaded programs folder. However I have no idea how I got it- I am
running XP Home on this machine- and I have not found anywhere to
download the file from that will install the ActiveX control from. So I
guess the questions are:

If this RDP download is the ACtiveX control, where did I get it;

Where can others get the same comnponent?

Thanks!

Well, I thought it would- I've made this file (tswebsetup) available
for download from the College website. But although the installation
runs with reported success, the Connect button remains greyed out and I
get the message that the control is not installed when trying the web
connection. The RDP Client Control (redist) file does not seem to
install when tswebsetup runs. I have been checking this by removing
the RDP file (I have to restore the computer and repair the file to get
it back after trying these tests). A couple of other people have tried
the tswebsetup download, again with no success.

Hi,
Well, I thought it would- I've made this file (tswebsetup) available
for download from the College website.

It seems that you may be misunderstanding what this package is. It is not
an end user download. Having your users download and run it is not going to
help.

The package contains the ActiveX control and a sample web page, but it is
meant for installation on the web server. If the web server is separate
from the terminal server, you will also want to modify the sample page a
little. When users access the resulting web page, their browser should
download the control automatically (they will probably have to click "yes"
on a security warning or click the gold bar at the top of their browser
window).

OK, I see that- yes, the web server is separate from the terminal
server. Right now, users are not getting the offer of downloading the
control from the sample web page. Do you know how the cose needs to be
modified, or has this been posted before? Thanks.
