Remote Desktop size choices

I have several Dell laptops with a native resolution of 1920x1200 (2 running
ATI video and 1 NVidia). I'm trying to connect from my desktop (has a Dell
24" widescreen 1920x1200) to any of the laptops. The RDC insists on a max
resolution of 1600x1200 when it connects. In the options (on connection
dialog), the last 2 choices are "1600x1200" and "Fullscreen". Either one
gets me 1600x1200 (along with the ugly black bars.

I've done a ton of searches now with both Microsoft's search engine (main
site) as well as Google. I've found no one else describing a similar
problem. I read about the "Default.rdp" file located in "My Documents"
folder. I manually edited the file with Notepad and changed the
"desktopwidth" parameter to 1920 (from 1600), but it had no effect.

Any ideas?

Bump.

I'm wondering if any of the Microsoft experts watching this forum can
confirm whether the resolution choices are locked (rather than it using the
remote's list of choices).
