Remote Desktop on my Home PC for when I am away from Home.

I am trying to set up a connection from my laptop which runs XP Home to
my Home Workstation whic runs XP Professional at home I have a wireless
wanadoo/orange livebox. I realise I need to set up some sort of vpn but
is there a straightforward afforrable way I can set this up? I work
from home, but have to travel to different sites as well, so it would
be nice to access my workstation occasionally when I am somewhere else.

I have set up remote desktop so I can access my workstation from my
laptop when we are both on the same wireless network and workgroup, but
is there a way to do it from other wireless networks?

Please help.

You don't need to setup a VPN, although a lot of folks including myself do
so, in order to use Remote Desktop. See this page for help...

If you do want to go the VPN route then Remote Desktop through a Secure
Shell (SSH) tunnel is quite easy to setup and use...
