Connect to Home PC from Work PC

How do I connect to my Home PC from my Work PC? I have Windows XP Pro SP1 at
work and Windows XP Pro SP2 at home. I do not have a domain environment at
home, only a workgroup. Just a wireless router and two laptops connected
wirelessly. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router connected
to a High-Speed Cable/Modem at home. I can connect to my work PC from my home
PC but not vice-versa with Remote Desktop after initializing VPN. Obviously
my office network has a VPN. But, I don't know if the ISP/Cable company
does. I've called the Cable company and they said that I'd have to configure
my router to access my home PC. I guess they mean, use the IP Address on the
router to connect to my home router and computers from the outside? I've
checked the router's settings and have enabled 'outside connections'. I've
also enabled/checked 'Remote Desktop' (System Properties) on my home PC.
Firewall is off with an Exception to Remote Desktop. Do I need to enable any
ports? Ok, how do I connect to my home PC from my work PC?

Yes, you should open port 3389 for remote desktop and 1723 for VPN if you would like to setup VPN. What we suggest is using RDC over VPN.
