remote desktop connection launches programs

If I have an RD window open but not maximized, certain letters i type into it
(for example, when i'm entering my password) will launch programs like IE and
powerpoint on my own pc windows.

what's causing this/how do i disable this?

Remote Desktop window for a guess...don't know a solution for the initial
problem though! sorry! :-(

When you start the Remote Desktop connection, click on the "Local Resources"
tab
Under where it says 'Keyboard', select "On the remote computer" for 'Apply
Windows key combinations'

By default this is set to 'In full screen mode only'.
