Remote Desktop Confusion

OK, just a tad confused here. I have Ultimate 64 as host, and XP Pro laptop
as client with RDP 6 set up as per:
http://theillustratednetwork.mvps.org/RemoteDesktop/RDP6ConfigRecommendations.html
I can use remote desktop intranet but not internet. I get invalid user
name/password. I've added the administrators account and 'owner' to the RD
clients list in Management Console, but that still does not work (should I
remove those?) it won't let me add my log-in name to the client list, either
that or I havent found how to. I used RD with XP machines for years, never a
glitch, but this has me stumped. What have I failed to do?? Thanks.

Never Mind!! Dummy forgot to log out after adding "Owner" to the RD Group.
Logging in from the XP machine it doesn't use my login name, which I find
odd, but does use my log in password. I knew being stubborn had it's uses.
Thanks for the time anyways, there's been some great posts made, and
wonderful answers given in these forums that have helped this transition to
Vista hugely. All networking functions perfectly and other than a bit of
frustration with RD, is a very happey camper, thanks to all!!
