remote control

Recently, my remote control to my laptop has stopped
functioning. However, I don't recieve any error messages
it simply starts to connect than disappears. I can use
my laptop to remote control to other systems just fine
but when I try to remote control my laptop it fails.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance...

Which Remote Control program are you referring to? Remote Desktop,
Remote Assistance, Netmeeting, VNC, etc. Also, how are you trying to
connect - via a web client, desktop client, java app?
