remote control

Hi,
I'm looking for a way to remotly control the XP and 2000 machines in my
office. I know I can use Remote Desktops, but I want access to the user's
desktop. Also, I'd like to avoid using a 3rd party application. Any
advice? Thanks.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP Home cannot host a remote desktop session. Only
XP pro can be a host.
Remote desktop does allow you to access the desktop and everything else on
the machine, but only works with xp pro as a host.
If you want to access 2000 or xp home boxes and view their desktops, but
don't want to use a thrid party app, then you're out of luck. If you want a
remote desktop emulation program them it's either remote desktop with xp pro
hosts only or a thrid party app. I like remote admin for my internal lan for
non-xp pro boxes.

you can use netmeeting to take control of windows 2000 O/S's, you'll get
the same desktop as the person you login as.
