Remote Control of PC with Connected Projector

Windows XP SP3

We have a couple of projectors that we use to project some of our monitoring
tools up on the wall at the front of the room. Currently, the projectors
are connected to machines that are used by employees. This poses a problem
because no one likes, for example, leaving for lunch and having to leave
their workstation unlocked so that the monitoring tools will remain
displayed on the wall. That's understandable, and is something that I've
been arguing against for the last 9 months. We've finally been given the go
ahead to connect the projectors to stand-alone machines that can be remotely
controlled.

I've setup a stand-alone machine that has a projector as the only display
and is configured for remote control. I can use RDC to connect to the
machine. However, each time I do this the currently logged on user gets
booted and the login dialog box gets displayed up on the wall. The problem
that this creates is that once I log off the machine the login dialog box
remains displayed on the wall, preventing us from seeing out monitoring
tools.

How can I configure the machine and/or RDC to avoid this problem so that our
monitoring tools remain displayed on the wall via the projector at all
times?

You have to use a third-party remote control tool, e.g. WinVNC.

Remote Desktop is working as designed.

Unfortunately, the design doesn't fulfill all your desires.

The good part is - you got some extra hardware just for projectors!
