I run remote connection via VPN to an XP workstation.
Computer #1 is XP Pro and has frequent disconnects during
the remote conneciton. Computer #2 has windows 2000 Pro -
this workstation never has remote connection issues -
works flawlessly for hours.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd guess this to be a networking issue. May be your network is having some
glitches and keeps dropping the packets. This is what I'd do -
1. Open CMD.exe and run the command "ping -t <ipaddress or machine of XP
machine>"
2. Open remote desktop connection.
3. When it gets disconnected, check the ping and see if the network packets
are being dropped.

This will help you narrowing down the problem. We can then say if its a
remote desktop issue or a problem with your network.
