Every time I log onto my computer, I immediately get an
error message that tells me that windows is shutting
down. This is initiated by NT Authority\System. The
smaller box tells me that Windows must restart because a
remote call procedure has terminated unexpectedly.
It was happening sporadically over the past couple of
days, and I can't see that it makes any difference which
user I log on or what programs I have running, if any.
(I do have an automatic connection via dsl, but it also
happens if I disable that and use my dial-up account.)
The only changes I have made in the past few days are to
use a CWShredder utility to remove cool web (which if
this is caused by that ... cool web was a lot less of a
problem, lol) and to add a user name and password
protect the main account. I also hid all the files.
Any help would be *so* appreciated ... I can't use my
computer at all without it.
Oh, btw, I am running Windows XP on a Toshiba laptop, and
my usual internet browser is Internet Explorer 6.0.
THANK YOU !!!
