Remote assistance cannot detect my messenger!

Issue:
When I tried to use RA (Remote Assistance) last night, my
msn messenger told me I don't have MSN installed.

Problem:
I reloaded my windows 3 days ago therefore everything is
new. after I reload windows xp, I remove the old version
of Winodws messenger by using "add/remote programs" and
delete Messenger folder in windows. After that, I
download the MSN 6.1 from MS web site. Everything looks
just fine, I have only one version MSN running on my XP.

Last night I tried to ask my cousin logon my computer and
see if RA function is working or not. When I tried to ask
RA by using MSN, it told me that the user refused my
request and told me to download the lastest version of
MSN. However I am running the lastest version!!

After that, I click on Start---> programs---> Remote
Assistance, it told me that I don;t have MSN installed.
But I really have MSN up and running.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thank you and
have a nice new year

If you dont run msn why did you install msn messenger
MSN messenger is/was created to operate in msn explorer (a dial-up internet connection
True, msn messenger "can" run w/o msn explorer, but look at youre problems, the
wouldnt exist if youd left windows messenger 4.7 alone,my advice, delete, msn, unchec
messenger in windows components (add remove programs),restart computer, the
dwnload 4.7,recheck messenger in components, open the dwnload, restart computer.

Greetings Wesley,

Your MSN Messenger actually told you that *Windows Messenger* wasn't installed. MSN
Messenger and Windows Messenger are separate applications -- Remote Assistance, being a
Windows component, requires Windows Messenger to be installed. To quickly reinstall Windows
Messenger, install the latest version of Windows Messenger 4.7 here:
