Remote Admin XP Professional ?

Paul

I am using a Windows 2000 Professional Workstation and
wonder whether it is possible to remote admin a XP
Professional workstation ?

I have already installed TSCLIENT on my workstation. If
it doesn't work, is it a good idea to install VNC on that
XP workstation ?

Thanks

Remotely administrate or connect via remote desktop? Either way, the answer
is yes. It sounds like you want to remote desktop onto the XP machine. As
long as you have XP Pro and have remote desktop enabled, you can connect
with a TS client or the Remote Desktop client from the XP CD, which is a bit
more flavorful.

You ask, "if it doesn't work...?" Have you tried?

Dear Ray,

Thank you for your advice. It does work.

However, when I connect to that XP workstation, it says
that John is already logged in and if I connect, it will
log John off. Is it possible for me to log on without
kicking John out ? Just like shadowing - PC Anywhere /
VNC ?

Thanks

So you want to interact with John's session. That would be possible by
means of Remote Assistance. How exactly you connect in "remote assistance
mode," I don't know. I'd try asking in an XP group, such as
m.p.windowsxp.work_remotely
