Remote access via a router on the LAN

Hi,

I have a Router configured on the network, and on the local network
its IP is say X.X.X.4, and the router connects to the internet and has
an IP address of Y.Y.Y.12

so now i have a server connected on my LAN with IP address X.X.X.5,
and it should act as an Remote Access server (or allow for VPN
connections) so now how can this server be configured to allow remote
users to login the system

Thanks in Advance

You need to configure your router so that it forwards packets
for port 1723 to your server. If the server has its own firewall
then you need to turn it off while testing.

Hi,

I have forwarded the Port 1723 from the server to the router...
the VPN works fine, but i have faced another error and that is that now
from the server which acts as a VPN server, i am not able to see all
the machines in the Local Area Network???

very weird... any idea's as to why this is happening....

the LAN IP address for the server is X.X.X.5, but when i try to ping
other machines on the network, it gives me, "DESTINATION HOST
UNREACHABLE"

the same happens when i try to ping the server from other machines
connected on the LAN.

Thanks in Advance

- What is the actual IP address of your server (please be specific)
- What is the IP address of the remote PC that accesses the server
via the VPN?
