I got home and office pc are both XP SP3.
Any suggestion how do I access my work PC from home? How do I get my work PC
exposed to 'public'?

You don't want to "expose" it at all. There are a lot of different
ways. Ask your network administrator or

Is the Office PC installed with Windows XP Professional or some other
version? Is it on a domain(server)-controlled network or just a stand-alone
or part of a workgroup?

Ask your network administrator to set up a VPN or give
you an RDP session.

Punching holes in your corporation's network security can get you in big
trouble, including getting fired. Talk to them on how to access your
work host from home. If they haven't setup a secure means of allowing
remote access then you doing such is a violation of their policies.
Remember that it is NOT your property. It is THEIR property. If they
deliberately choose not to allow remote access to their work hosts then
you don't do work from home (that uses those hosts). Do you think they
would also allow you to tap into their business phone system to listen
in on conversations from home without their permission?

You're assuming an awful lot. Could be "the office" or "work" simply refers
to a small professional's office where the OP is actually the one in charge
and the network, if any, is a simple peer-to-peer workgroup setup. Could be
it's a simple matter of configuring firewalls.

Which is why I asked the questions I asked.
