Reminders do not fire in Outlook 2007.

When i start Outlook 2007 I get the error message "There was a problem
reading one or more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear." My
reminders only show up in the To-Do box but no dialog box shows up to alert
me of the appointment. What can i try to fix this?

Try starting Outlook once with the /cleanreminders switch. Start | Run ...
Outlook /cleanreminders

Notice that Bill told you to include a space in front of the /cleanreminders
switch and you apparently did not. Also, no need to include the entire path
to the outlook image. enter nothing more than exactly what Bill stated.

Brian,
Thanks, that caused the program to launch but it did not solve the original
problem. The error message about not being able to read reminders still
appears when Outlook starts and the reminders do not fire on schedule. Any
other things that i can try?

I'm not sure it will help, but you might also want to try the /cleansniff
command switch.

I tried the "cleansniff" switch but it did not help. Could this problem have
something to do with the fact that i send my data to an Outlook.pst file?

It shouldn't. I use Outlook both with and without an Exchange account, and
whether the delivery is to the mailbox or to a PST, reminders work.

What I'd try at this point is a new mail profile and a new PST, making the
new PST the delivery location, then moving the contents of the old PST's
folders to the new PST may regenerate the reminders.

I renamed the current pst file, created a new pst file as you suggested and
opened Outlook. I got the same error message even though there were no
reminders or appointments in the new file. Do you have any other suggestions
or is it time to pay the price to have MS fix it for me?

But did you start with a NEW mail profile? Your description does not
indicate you did. Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add creates a new mail
profile.
