reminder pop up

Hello,

I need help, I have a "pop-up" that CANNOT be closed. It
opens itself whether I am using internet explorer OR the
opera web browser.

The title bar of the pop up is labelled: "reminder:[date
and time]". The body of the pop up then reads "The page
cannot be displayed. The page you are looking for is
currently unavailable..." The body of the pop up looks
like an I.E. error message. But the pop up window CANNOT
be closed--there are NO little "X" or "_" tabs on it.
Also the pop-up's reference tab on the taskbar appears to
display a broken "Windows" flag as a color icon.

I installed AdShield and CWshredder, as well as running
Norton Antivirus, but no dice! Any thoughts are
appreicated! Thank you!

This issue occurs specifically in Compaq Presario / HP units. Can you run
Startup Tracker and HijackThis and send a log file to me for inspection?

Have you tried Alt-F4. It's a combination that closes
programs and it will close the active window of IE.
Believe me. In some places the pop-ups come so fast you
don't have time to look for the little X in the corner.
