Remembering Passwords

Outlook will not remember my password when accessing my
POP3 mail client. I followed the tech support steps from
Microsoft, but they do not tell me how to fix the problem
for Windows XP users, only Windows 98, 2000, or NT 4.0.

Can anyone help? I've also followed directions from the
email client and have tried reinstalling both Outlook and
my email account.

Try the instructions in the following MSKB article -- it should work for all
Outlook versions on Windows XP (note, this article is written for Outlook
Express, but the solution applies to Outlook as well. Just ignore the parts
that refer to OE):

Hello,
Follow the directions in the below knowledge base article for Windows 2000.
Windows XP uses the Windows 2000 Kernel. The registry information in both
is essentially the same.
