Remember Password

Ever Since the first of the year Windows Mail does not remember the user
name or the password although I have put them both in Tools/Accounts on the
Servers tab and instructed it to Remember password and clicked Apply.

This has just happened since January 1. It never happened before.

Second Question - What is Live Mail and should I download it

Some email provider has switched to requiring that user names be entered
in all lower case, so try that.

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them cause various
problems in Windows Mail.

Do you mean Windows Live Mail? It's Microsoft's new email program,
with the ability to connect to webmail ports such as Hotmail added.
Microsoft seems to be putting more effort into it now than into Windows
Mail. Download and install it if you are looking for another email
program to try. I think there's another program with the same name
available elsewhere, so be sure to get Microsoft's version:

I have always used a lower case user name, before and after January 1. The
problem is that Tools/Accounts does not remember the password even after it
has been instructed to.

Well, I deleted the account and created it again. No luck. It keeps asking
me for the user name and password.

You were asked twice about your antivirus program.
Why are you avoiding answering that question?

Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
security programs. Those will need to be uninstalled, NOT just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.
