Hello!
I have 2 Windows 2003 servers installed with the same image some time
ago. When we try to access an internal webpage that needs logon we get
this box on 1 of the servers:

On the other server the option to "Remember my password" is disabled -
completly gone not greyed out.
I've been searching the net for this and also the Microsoft support
pages but can't find the answer. However I believe this box is centered
around "Basic Authorisation". As can be seen here (under Credential
Management):
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/evaluate/xpsec.mspx
So I don't think it's the Auto Complete function.
Someone has suggested to look at the regkey DisablePasswordCaching but
this key is not set on any of the servers.
Where to look?
