An accdr file will only execute in runtime mode if you already have Access
2007 installed on the machine. Presumably Scott wants the runtime so that he
can distribute msaccess.exe to other users.
With the 2007 Developer Extensions supposedly free, would this imply the 2003
version can currently be obtained free in the interim?
I am in the middle of developing (First time), don't want to have to buy
2003 ADE, but not sure if I can wait until ?? for 2007 ADE.
Can the 2003 runtime at least be obtained presently? Developing in 2003, but
most end machines are 2000 version, is starting to catch me out in a few
areas.
To get the Access Developer Extensions for Access 2003 (which is what gives
you the license for the run-time), you need to purchase Visual Studio 2005
Tools for Microsoft Office. (And note that while there appears to be a free
version of VSTO available for download, this doesn't include ADE)
