Reinstll Windows xp

While working on a project.Tried to go to Ms word.Comptuer
prompted that files were missing suggested to reinstall
window xp.Beginning of end.After reinstalling xp lost all
info. on file,Norton won't load propely,scanning line on
screen that was not present before. I've managed to get
back on line.Every thing running very slowly and erratic
ly.I don't believe my computer is protected from online
viruses.Norton will not xfer virus deffinitions.ANY help
would be greatly appreciated........Michael Bennett

Having just gone through a similar problem... First
thing I did was re-install virus protection and do a
scan - found virus'. Go to
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl7.php . They have a free
virus program - or buy something quickly.

Last - you said - everything running "slowly /
erractically" - You may need to re-install your monitor
video drivers. Go to your PC manufacturers web site and
find the download for your PC. Again, once I did this
things went well.
